National Student Paper Presentation Seminar’08

 

MERI organized its National paper presentation seminar on 8th March 2008 this year it was  Student paper presentation and the themes  were:

 

  • Competitive India
  • SEZ A Boon Or A Bane
  • Future of Insurance Sector In India

 

The chief guest of the event was Prof. Dr. N.K. Chadha, Head department of adult, continuing education and extension Delhi University.

 

We received entries from 6 institutions including MERI. In some cases , more than one paper has been received on the same topic from an institution  viz:

1. Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (Delhi University)-2 Papers

2. Delhi Institute Of Advance Studies- 4 Papers.

3. University of Petroleum and Energy- 2 Papers.

4. Rai Business School- 1Paper

5. JK Business School, Gurgaon-3 Papers

6. MERI-8 papers

 

After carefully examining the various papers and in consultation with Sr. Faculty members, for each of the three topics , only one entry from each institute was selected for presentation. The papers were selected only after a review by  Director General Prof. Y.L. Grover and other Faculty members.

 

In order to give fair chance to all of the presenters, chit system was followed in the presence of Judges.

 

The Judges of the event were Prof. Dr. N.K. Chadha & Prof. A.K. Aggarwal(Dean Management, MERI).

 

The event started with an inaugural speech by honorable Director General Prof. Y.L. Grover followed by his Key note address on various topics.

The contest was won by the students of Guru Gobind Singh College Of Commerce Delhi University . They were awarded a Cash Prize of Rs. 1500.

And the second Prize of Rs.750 went to MERI

 

The event ended up with the concluding remarks of Prof.Dr. N.K. Chadha followed by Prize distribution and vote of thanks by Prof. Y.L. Grover.
