Annual IT Seminar at MERI- APRENDEMOS 2008
The annual IT seminar Aprendemos was held on October 18, 2008 (Saturday) at MERI Auditorium. The theme for this year’s seminar was “Connaissance : gonna swirl ur mind…”
The seminar started with the lighting of the lamp by Honourable Chief Guest Mr. I.P.Aggarwal, Chairman, Triveni Educational & Social Welfare Society, New Delhi and other dignitaries namely Mr. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President, MERI, Prof. Y.L. Grover, Director-General, MERI, Dr. V. K. Kapoor, Director, MERI-CET, Dr. Manju Singh, Registrar and Prof. A. K. Agarwal, Dean (Management). The esteemed Chief Guest was presented bouquet. The seminar was graced by the thoughts of Mr. I.P.Aggarwal. He emphasized on the need of sharpening the technical skills to face the challenges. His speech immensely motivated the students to work harder to achieve their goals. He was thanked by Prof. Grover.
The 1st technical session started at 1100 hrs. It was presented by Mr. Vijay B. Aggarwal, Director & CEO, Pitambar Infovision Pvt. Ltd. He discussed in detail about developments in robotics technologies and rapid growth of robotics industry.
The 2nd session started at 1200 hrs. It was presented by Mr. Varun Aggarwal, Director(Technical), Aspiring Minds. He discussed in detail about the working and functionality with Live Demonstration of some Educational Robots.
The 3rd session started at 1400 hrs. It was presentated by Dr. Girish Kumar Jha, Assistant Professor, Jawahar Lal Nehru University. He discussed in detail about utilizing the power of information technology so that we can work in our home language.
All the Technical Sessions were followed by lively interactive question answers.
The last session was an Inter College IT Quiz ‘CATECHIZE 2008’. Students from 7 colleges including MERI participated.The colleges were namely INMANTEC, RDIAS Rohini, IMM,TIPS, MERI-CET and GIBS Rohini.
The quiz was won by the team from Management Education & Research Institute(MERI).They were awarded a cash prize of Rs.1500. The second prize of Rs.1000 was shared by two teams.The Prizes were awarded by Dr. Manju Singh and Prof. A. K. Aggarwal.
The students who worked as volunteers for the seminar were also presented certificates by Dr. Manju Singh and Prof. A. K. Aggarwal.
v All the audience was given a feedback-form. It was collected at the end of the seminar.
v 11 Faculty Members from different colleges(DIAS, LDIMS, MERI-CET, GARGI COLLEGE, MAIMS, TIPS etc.) had attended the seminar.
v 70 Students from different colleges had attended the seminar.(IMM, RDIAS, MERI-CET, TIPS, GIBS, INMANTEC, DKES-SCS etc.)
The general response has been very positive and the seminar was a great success.
The seminar was coordinated by Ms. Ritu Aggarwal and Mr. Sumit Chauhan(Faculty members).
