Splice: Let’s Reunite
The annual event of MERI for alumni “Splice: Let’s Reunite” was held on October 11, 2008 (Saturday) at MERI auditorium. The meet is awaited a lot as it provides the platform for the alumni to cherish the time spent with the associates of the institute. They also set guideposts for the current batches to emulate the success of their predecessors.
The event started with the lighting of the lamp by honourable chief guests Mr. I.P.Aggarwal, Chairman, Triveni Educational & Social Welfare Society, New Delhi and Mr. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President, MERI. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Mrs. I.P. Aggarwal, Mrs. Lalit Aggarwal, Prof. Y.L. Grover, Director-General, MERI, Dr. Manju Singh, Registrar and Prof. A. K. Agarwal Dean (Management). Mr. Lalit Aggarwal Vice-President, MERI delivered the welcome speech. His words really left something for the alumni to take home along with.
The auditorium was well decorated with lights, white and blue curtains and flowers. Lots of alumnus visited the meet. They could be found interacting with their friends and faculty members. Cultural programme started at the scheduled time. Students of the institute rocked the show with a number of cultural performances. The fashion show was marked to spread the theme of peace and love. The alumni were not there to just sit and enjoy. They also took pride to come to the stage. It felt as if they really aspired for this opportunity to refresh their talent. Some games were also held for them. Prizes were distributed to alumni for good performances.
The function ended aptly with a vote of thanks by the Director General of the Institute Prof. Y.L. Grover followed by dinner and jam session.
Alumni left with the feeling of gratitude for the institute and being honoured to be associated with MERI. The event was a mega event and truly stealth the heart of alumni. It was organized by Dr. Sakshi Vasudeva and Mrs. Rajeshwari.

Let’s Reunite ……….
Not many lectures
pass without Alumni being mentioned. Not many lecturers forget faces from the
past. For us, our Alumni had always been an enigma. It was thus with great
expectation & joy we came up with the idea of reuniting with our old students by
celebrating Alumni Meet – 2006 aptly named as ‘Splice’.
The event was organized on October 14, 2006 and was a grand success. For the Alumni, it was a chame to relive their fond memories and enjoy an evening full of fun & nostalgia. For the institute, it was an opportunity to acknowledge, admire salute the achievements of its Alumni.
The event started with a welcome note by the revered Vice – President of the Institute – Mr. Lalit Aggarwal. It was followed by entertaining dame performances not only by the present batches but also by several alumni. The audience could have the taste of all kinds of dances like Salsa, Bahengra Western, Rajashtani etc. Many alumni came to the stage & shared their experiences about the corporate would with the present batches. They also expressed their gratitude towards the institute for helping them to achieve great heights in their career.
It is rightly said : “all well that ends well” the function ended appropriately with a Vote of Thanks by the Hon’ble Director General of the Institute – Prof. Y. L. Grover followed by Dinner & Jam Session.

Alumni Meet at MERI is an annual
event which helps to strengthen the relationship between the ME
RIANS & the
Alma-mater.
This year, the event was organized on 22nd October, 2005 & was a grand success. The purpose of the event was to provide a platform to the MERIANS to reunite with their old friends & thus the event was named as ‘SPLICE’.
This event was special in the sense that it was very closely related to Indian Culture. Colourful outfits, lively dance performances & traditional Indian cuisine gave everybody an opportunity to visit the entire India without stepping out of the campus that night.
The event started with the welcome note & brief description
about MERI by the revered Vice-President of the Institute – Mr. Lalit Aggarwal. The main
attraction of the programme was ‘Ramp Dance’- A combination of Fashion Show
& Dance. Another event which caught everybody’s attention was the
Choreography with theme-Water & Fire. The participants depicted their true
Indian spirit through the event named –Folkways. The perfect blend of Modernity
with Tradition at MERI was very well presented by Namrata & Divya through
their Fusion Dance.
The function ended with the Vote of Thanks by the Hon’ble Director General of the Institute- Prof. Y.L.Grover. The entire show was organized Ms. Tanu Varma & Ms. Harmeet Kaur (Faculty Members).
The event ended with a rocking on the floor – ‘Jam Session’ & sumptuous dinner.
