The opening up of Indian economy and the liberalization policy of the Government has generated the demand for professionally trained managers and IT professionals to face the challenges of competition. To meet these challenges Management Education & Research Institute (MERI) was established in 1994 by the Triveni Educational and Social Welfare Society,   those first and successful endeavor was a public school followed by a teacher training institute. MERI is steered by Mr. Lalit Aggarwal (Vice- President) and Prof. Y.L Grover (Director- General) along with their members of the managing committee. Prof. Y.L. Grover with his wholesome experience of Industry and academics believes that “Meri is not only into cognitive learning but also in value building, to ensure the development of Professional Specialists in both Management and IT streams.”

 The institute is conducting a two- year (full-time) Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and PGDM (three year) Part- Time which is approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, and Govt. of India. The curriculum has been specifically designed to cater to the demands of the Industry. A neat blend of theory and practice develops a high level of confidence and understanding in students. The curriculum is updated every year to keep abreast with the changing trend in industry. “We offer a strong focus on IT with other areas. The Institute offers speliazation in various areas namely Marketing Management, Financial management, Human Resource Management, Information Technology and also special course in Retail Management, Insurance etc,

 Beside this the institute also offers a three – Years Master in Computer Application (MCA) in affiliation with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The MCA Course is designed to meet the contemporary needs of the industry comprising of a potent combination of theoretical and conceptual know-how. Student is given ample opportunity to interact with working professionals giving them an insight of the industry and an encouragement for developing projects their own. 

Both in house as well as visiting faculty members are highly qualified and trained personalities with a solid base of experience in education and industry. This is to have a perfect blend of theoretical and practical aspects of the subject taught. MERI also offers placement assistance to all its students, matching with his /her capabilities and expectations. A large number of organizations have repeatedly recruited MERIans over these years, HCL Infosys, ICICI Bank, India Bulls, UTI, Accenture, TCS, Sapient, Nagaro, Flextronics, AVL, Satyam, Cipla Ltd.; Highest Placement PGDM for the batch (2005-2007) has been 30.00 lakhs p.a.

 Meri has a well stocked library housing 17,000 Books (including 825 reference books and over 30 magazines and newspaper). The Library catalogue is fully computerized. It is available online and students can make selection and advance books of books online. Institute is also a member of American Library Network (DELNET) and can use their database of books and journals. The Institute is also a member of American Information Resource Centre (AIRC) and can borrow books and photocopies of articles of journals. Computer labs are well- equipped with latest software Wi-Fi Campus Internet facility. Institute provides separate hostel accommodation facilities for boys and girls.

In a recent survey conducted by the institute it has been noticed that the management courses being taught are at par with those taught at Harvard B-School and Stanford, USA etc. The Institute has planned to venture for development al activities and augmenting of quality of education through academic collaboration with prestigious foreign universities. MERI is not only into cognitive learning but also in value building to ensure the development of Professional Specialists. It has strong relations with a larger number of Indian & Multinational Companies. These companies have recruited students repeatedly for the past years. The Institute has strong Affiliations and Collaborations with prestigious Universities spanning from China in the east to Europe and America in the west.
